Dr. Rowena Hughes
I’m Dr. Rowena Hughes, MB BCh, BAO, DDerm, DipObsGynae, aMRCPath, MSc Pharm Med, PGDip HEcon, MBA. I worked for 10 years in the HSE as a hospital doctor, followed by an exciting career in the pharmaceutical industry supporting the development and launch of new drugs in oncology, cardiovascular and dermatology.
Skin, aesthetics, diagnostics & hormonal health have always been passions of mine and my time as Global Medical Director for Men’s Health in Besins’ Healthcare (a global pharmaceutical company specialising in hormonal therapies) increased my interest in men’s health, which is a very underserved area in medicine. I’m a member of the International Society of Sexual Medicine (ISSM).
I have a postgraduate diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology from the Royal College of Physicians, Ireland and I’m a certified Menopause specialist with the British Menopause Society and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, UK.
I combine my medical knowledge as a doctor with a postgraduate diploma in dermatology with my training in medical aesthetics (Mastery in Medical Aesthetics) to provide the best, holistic advice & outcomes for skin and appearance. I’m also acutely aware of the influence hormonal deficiency & excess weight have on health and seek to enhance awareness and support people to better wellbeing.
A little tip on pronouncing my name! my name can be pronounced ‘Rowenna’ or the Irish version Riona, but I go by ‘Roweena’.

Rebecca Hughes
Rebecca is a QQI Level 5, & ITEC Level 4 qualified beauty therapist. Rebecca’s main areas of expertise are in laser hair removal and advanced facial technology such as microneedling and chemical peels.
Rebecca has a keen interest in skin health and skincare products. She uses select skincare brands like Danne Montague King, Obagi and Zein Obagi to deliver bespoke facial treatments. Due to her background training, she is adept at combining state of the art technology such as facial mapping & analysis (with the Observ520x), Hydrabrasion facials, peels, microneedling and ultrasound with the top skincare formulations to give an unrivalled experience.
Rebecca provides a state of the art laser hair removal service using the Eneka Pro® which can treat both dark thick hair with the 808nm diode as well as medium to dark red hair or dark blonde or fine hair with the Alexandrite 755nm laser.
Rebecca’s unique characteristics which she brings to her work are an innate artistic flare, calmness, patience, and she is a perfectionist.
Aesthetics Training Academy
Dr. Hughes offers one to one training on botulinum toxin, dermal fillers, skin boosters and a variety of skin treatments such as mesotherapy, exosomes and chemical peels.
There are eligibility criteria for each course, especially in terms of any course which requires use of prescription only medicines such as botulinum toxin which may only be legally prescribed and administered by a registered doctor or dentist.
